How to Make Baked Ham and Cheese Roll Ups

Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are so quick and easy to make! Your favorite sandwich meat, cheese, garlic butter and refrigerated pizza dough is all you need!  The possibilities are truly endless and a delicious result every time.

All you need is your favorite sandwich meat, really, any kind will do.  I have used everything from ham to salami, pastrami, turkey to bologna!  All will taste great!

Next, you need to decide which kind of cheese you want to use.  Frankly, I use whatever I have in the fridge.  I have used both slices and shredded and on one occasion both because I wanted to use them up.  Not a single complaint or leftover!  Basically I am telling you to use whichever cheese you like best!

For years I used refrigerated crescent dough to make these but as soon as the refrigerated pizza dough came out I tried it and liked it much better.  It is not only easier to work with but the result is so much better, in our opinion anyways!  I can't wait to hear what you all think!

I like using garlic butter on the inside of the dough and all over the top.  I usually buy a stick or use plain old butter to make these Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels.

I used to smear mustard all over the inside of the dough, before the cheese and sandwich meat, until my son started having friends over that didn't like mustard so I used butter and they were a success.  Those that wanted could easily dip these Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels into mustard but more often than not they didn't dip at all.

How to make Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Prepare a 6 hole muffin pan with cooking spray and set aside.

Roll out your refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle. Using a brush, coat dough in melted garlic butter.

Top with slices of ham and shredded or sliced cheese, starting at a corner. Lay slices of ham and cheese until the dough is totally covered.

Starting at the narrow end, roll the dough up as tightly as possible.

Slice roll 5 times so you have 6 pieces, between 1 ½ and 2 inches thick.

Place your slices in your prepared muffin pan and brush remaining melted butter across the top of each pinwheel.

Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until a golden brown color. Serve and enjoy!  These are delicious as a snack or a small meal or even dipped in over easy egg yolks!
